Elder's Mills Public School
Elder’s Mills Public School opened in 2004, originally serving students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 as a small English-track school. In 2009, French Immersion was introduced, gradually expanding each year and enriching our community with a new layer of linguistic and cultural diversity.
By 2013, Elder’s Mills transitioned to a single-track French Immersion school. Today, we proudly serve students in Grades 3–8, while our Grade 1 and 2 French Immersion students begin their journey at Lorna Jackson P.S. and Pierre Berton P.S.
Our school community is home to just over 500 students, supported by a dedicated team of 38 staff members across 21 homeroom classes. Together, we strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Elder’s Mills offers a wide range of learning opportunities and programs. Our Resource Library continues to grow with culturally responsive materials in both French and English, supporting meaningful and reflective learning. In the upper grades, students enjoy our Instrumental Music program, and as a Platinum-certified EcoSchool, we are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to explore their interests and build leadership skills through a variety of extracurricular activities. Past opportunities have included a GSA, Student Leadership Club, Lunch Monitors, Band, Bucket Drumming, Primary Reading Club, Coding Club, Eco Team, and more. We look forward to continuing to offer enriching experiences for our students throughout the 2025–2026 school year.
